The award recognises businesses which employ good working practices and have strong health and safety records, in particular those which show continuous improvement in prevention of accidents and ill health. Russells invites RoSPA to assess the business every few years and has been awarded the Gold Award on the last three occasions, in 2015, 2013 and 2011.
Roger said: “I’m extremely proud of the whole team that we’ve been awarded Gold now for the third time. To be recognised by RoSPA in this way is a great testament to the business, its employees and subcontractors.”
As the UK’s family safety charity, RoSPA’s mission to save lives and reduce injuries covers all ages and stages of life. Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The awards are non-competitive, grading achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 industry sectors, and this is the third time Russells has picked up the Gold level.
